Malaysia, Brunei to Work on Resolving Territorial Dispute - 2003-07-14

update

Malaysia and Brunei are to hold ministerial-level talks next week to settle a territorial dispute that has interrupted oil and gas exploration off Borneo island.

Both sides hope to reach a settlement at the July 22 meeting at a venue yet to be confirmed.

The disputed offshore site is part of an oil and gas exploration area both countries are trying to develop in Borneo, which is divided among Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia.
