The Vatican has formally announced plans for Pope John Paul II to make a four-day visit to Slovakia in September.
Between September 11-14, he will make stops in the cities of Trnava, Banska Bystrica, and Roznava, as well as the capital, Bratislava. It will be the 102nd foreign visit of his papacy.
Since last Thursday, the 83-year-old pontiff has been resting at his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo in the Alban Hills south of Rome.
