Malaysia's central bank says the economy grew nearly 4.5 percent in the second quarter, despite suffering setbacks from the SARS epidemic.
Bank Negara governors said Wednesday that although Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome slowed growth in the services sector, the manufacturing, agriculture and mining sectors expanded rapidly. The bank says Malaysia is on target to post 4.5 percent growth for the year.
