Danish cyclist Michael Rasmussen has won the mountainous seventh stage of the Tour of Spain, but Spanish rider Isidro Nozal retained the overall leader's golden jersey.
Rasmussen finished the 190-kilometer stage from Huesca across the French border to Cauterets in 5:01:14 hours. Felix Cardenas of Colombia was second, 55 seconds back. Spain's Manuel Beltran of the U.S. Postal Service team finished third, four seconds behind Cardenas.
Beltran moved into second place overall, 55 seconds behind Isidro Nozal in the overall standings. Igor Gonzalez Galdeano of Spain is third overall, 1:21 minutes behind Nozal.
Saturday's eight stage covers 166 kilometers and includes three category one climbs. The stage ends with a 1,900-meter climb up the Alto Plá de Beret. The Tour ends September 28 in Madrid.
