South Korean Golfers Lead Kraft Nabisco Ladies Golf Championship - 2004-03-28

South Koreans Grace Park and 17-year-old Aree Song are leading the Kraft Nabisco ladies golf championship, heading into Sunday's fourth and final round in Rancho Mirage, California.

The 25-year-old Park carded a 5-under-par 67 Saturday, including birdies on four consecutive holes. Song, playing in just her fourth event since turning professional, fired a 69 to share the leaderboard at 208, eight under par after 54 holes.

Second round co-leader Jung Yeon Lee is one stroke behind her fellow South Koreans. The other second-round co-leader, Dottie Pepper of the United States, is four shots off the lead.

Fourteen-year-old American amateur Michelle Wie fired a 69, and is two shots off the lead, along with Australian professional Karrie Webb.

World number one Annika Sorenstam of Sweden is eight strokes off the lead, virtually dashing her hopes of winning a record four consecutive major Ladies Professional Golf Association events.

Going into Sunday's final round of the Players golf Championship in Florida, Australian Adam Scott has a two-stroke lead, with world number one Tiger Woods of the United States trying to catch him.

Scott carded a 3-under-par 69 in the third round, to move into the lead with a 54-hole score of 206, 10-under-par.

Woods, who barely made the cut after the second round, was more his usual self on Saturday, with a 4-under-par 68 that put him six shots behind Scott.

The second-round co-leader, Kevin Sutherland, and fellow American Frank Lickliter are two strokes off the lead at 208.

Another stroke back at 209 are five golfers, including South Africa's Ernie Els, American Phil Mickelson and the other second-round leader, American Jerry Kelly.

World number two Vijay Singh of Fiji shot even-par (72) Saturday, putting him in a three-way tie for ninth place, four shots behind the leader.
