Jackson Pleads Not Guilty to Sexual Abuse, Conspiracy - 2004-04-30


Michael Jackson has pleaded not guilty to 10 charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of a minor, including a new charge of conspiring to abduct a child.

Jackson entered the pleas Friday, in a Santa Maria, California, courthouse, with hundreds of his fans gathered outside the building.

In addition to the conspiracy charge, Jackson was formally charged Friday, with four counts of lewd acts with a minor, one count of an attempted lewd act with a minor and four counts of administering an intoxicating agent to a minor.

Jackson, who recently changed his legal team, is currently free on $3 million bail. He was first charged by police in January.

His accuser was 12 years old at the time of the alleged molestation.
