Defending champion Maria Sharapova of Russia has won the Japan Open tennis tournament in Tokyo.
The top seed and Wimbledon champion easily defended her title against unseeded American Mashona Washington, winning in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) in Saturday's final.
Sharapova is ranked eighth in the world and has won six Women's Tennis Association titles.
