Chinese state media are reporting that 14 people have been killed and 10 injured in a stampede at a religious ceremony in northwest China.
The official Xinhua news agency reported Monday that the stampede occurred as food was being handed out at a commemoration for a religious figure at a mosque in the Guyuan municipality in the northwest Ningxia region.
Four of those injured are in critical condition at a local hospital.
The Ningxia region is home to a large population of China's Hui Muslim ethnic group.
