The Shiite militant group Hezbollah is criticizing U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for saying Lebanon has been hit by a "worrying pattern" of armed incidents.
Mr. Ban made the comments Monday in a report on security council resolution - Resolution 1559 - that calls for an end to non-governmental forces in Lebanon.
The report was released shortly after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited Lebanon and met with officials, including Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.
Hezbollah says the report shows international interference in Lebanon's affairs. In a Wednesday statement, the group also says it shows "political interference" in the work of a special tribunal for Lebanon.
A U.N. tribunal is investigating the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri. Hezbollah fears the probe may indict some of its members.
Al-Hariri was the father of current Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri. He was killed along with 22 other people in a truck bombing in Beirut.
