Officials in southern India say a state-owned gas pipeline has exploded, killing 14 people and injuring 15.
Authorities say the blast hit a pipeline of the Gas Authority of India Limited in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh state.
A fire broke out Friday morning on a stretch of pipeline running through the village of Nagaram, engulfing homes and businesses.
The cause of the blast was not immediately known.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said his thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives in the explosion. Writing on Twitter, Modi said he has spoken to the petroleum minister and other officials and asked them to "ensure immediate relief at the accident site."
Earlier this month, six people were killed by a poisonous gas leak at one of India's largest government-owned steel plants in central Chhattisgarh state.
