Live Coverage: Clinton, Trump Tangle Over Trade, Taxes, Race

update

During the first presidential debate between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump, the candidates tangle over trade and the economy. At times, moderator Lester Holt allows the candidates to speak over each other and go beyond their two-minute time limits.

Donald Trump is criticizing the Federal Reserve System.

Moderator Lester Holt brings up the fact that Trump has not released his income tax statements.

Trump says he would, but he's under an IRS audit.

Holt asks again, does the public have a right to know what is in his taxes?

Trump responds again that he is under an audit.

Donald Trump begins his response time by saying her response was that of a "typical politician."

Hillary Clinton has been given two minutes to answer Donald Trump, saying that we need to invest in the middle class, not the rich.

But Trump keeps speaking over here.

The moderator has reminded Trump that this is Clinton's time to speak.

Trump is rolling his eyes, shaking his head as she speaks.
