Donald Trump is now the 45th president of the United States. After swearing his allegiance to the Constitution in a ceremony at the US Capitol Friday, Trump delivered a 16-minute address stressing his campaign theme - "make America great again." The 70-year-old president, holding elective office for the first time in his life, told a crowd of several hundred thousand people at the National Mall that his administration will transfer power away from Washington and return it to the American people.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who lost to Donald Trump in last November's election, has put out a message ahead of Friday's inauguration. Clinton had been seeking to become the country's first woman president.
