After swearing his allegiance to the Constitution in a ceremony at the US Capitol Friday, Trump delivered a 16-minute address stressing his campaign theme - "make America great again." The 70-year-old president, holding elective office for the first time in his life, told a crowd of several hundred thousand people at the National Mall that his administration will transfer power away from Washington and return it to the American people.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who has been critical of President-elect Donald Trump, has addressed Friday's inauguration ceremony. "Today we celebrate one of democracy's core attributes: the peaceful transfer of power," he said.
