US - BRITAIN - SYRIA

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says no decision has yet been made on how the United States will help opposition fighters "save Syria."

Kerry made the comment Wednesday in Washington, alongside British Foreign Minister William Hague. The two diplomats spoke after talks on strategies for establishing a transitional Syrian government when and if embattled President Bashar al-Assad leaves office.

Hague said Britain and its allies must do more to save innocent lives in Syria, and said the situation demands what he called a "strong and determined" approach by London, Washington and other Western allies.

Both Britain and the United States have provided non-lethal support to rebels fighting Syria's Assad, and have discussed the possibility of sending weapons.
