Tens of thousands of supporters of late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez lined the streets of Caracas for a final procession to move the leader's body to its resting place.
Supporters cheered and held up Chavez's picture as his coffin was moved Friday from the Caracas military academy to a military museum.
"We came to say our last goodbye to have a memory of Chavez, with all my people from my hometown Anaco. We left Anaco last night to say our last goodbye and have a great memory for the rest of our lives from our president."
Chavez died of cancer earlier this month at the age of 58. His death devastated millions of mostly poor supporters who revered him for offering the promise of a better future. His death also gave renewed hope to opponents who denounced him as a dictator.
President Chavez had named Vice President Nicolas Maduro as his successor. Acting President Maduro has promised to continue Chavez's socialist agenda and has formally registered as a candidate in the April 14 election.
