World Bank: High African Growth Offset by Persistent Poverty

The World Bank invited journalists from about 20 African countries via webcam on Monday to join in the conversation about their latest report on the continent’s economy. Sub-Saharan African countries continue to grow at a strong pace the report says but high inequality and resource dependence have dampened the poverty-reducing effect of income growth.
