Thousands of India’s widows are living in substandard government shelters in the northern city Vrindavan alone. But the women are getting a second chance, after being adopted by a nongovernmental organization, and widows who had nearly given up on life are now getting the help they desperately need. VOA correspondent Aru Pande talks with Alex Villarreal about this story with a happier ending.
