Cold War Era Floating Radio Station (VOA On Assignment July 4, 2014)

In 1952, the Voice of America launched a Coast Guard cutter in the Mediterranean Sea that had been transformed into a floating radio station. It’s mission for more than a decade: to deliver a message of hope and freedom behind the Iron Curtain.
