A cease-fire proposal is being offered to stop the conflict in Yemen. U.S. and Saudi officials have agreed to pursue a humanitarian pause in Yemen, where fighting by Shi’ite Houthi rebels has forced thousands of people to flee the country. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and his Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubier announced a five-day cease-fire to send in humanitarian aid. Zaid al-Alaya’a, a Sanaa based journalist, joins VOA's Vincent Makori via phone, from Yemen, to discuss the security.
