Tonight, Egypt’s Islamic State affiliate is claiming responsibility for a wave of deadly attacks Wednesday in the Sinai Peninsula. Security officials say at least 20 soldiers were killed. The attacks against multiple military checkpoints included a suicide bombing near the town of Sheikh Zuweid. An Islamic State group statement says the terrorists hit 15 different checkpoints in the assault. VOA’s Vincent Makori reports and later talks to VOA’s Ed Yeranian, in Cairo, Egypt.
