When the world thinks of refugees, the images that often come to mind are the millions of Syrians who have fled their country to escape a brutal civil war. But the massive worldwide exodus of refugees seeking better lives is not exclusive to the Middle East. As VOA’s Latin American correspondent Celia Mendoza tells us, a growing humanitarian crisis is happening right now in America’s backyard, along the border of Venezuela and Colombia.
