11 Missing After Ship Collision Near Hong Kong

Rescuers off the coast of Hong Kong are searching for 11 crew members of a Chinese cargo ship that sank after colliding with a container vessel.

Hong Kong officials say a fishing boat rescued one man after the two ships collided before dawn Monday several kilometers south of the city.

Local officials are coordinating rescue efforts with mainland China.

The Associated Press reports the 97-meter cargo vessel registered in mainland China sank after colliding with the 300-meter container vessel.

Hong Kong's waterways are frequently crowded with sampans, ferries, cruise ships and massive cargo ships.
