Jamaican Coast Guard Rescues 38 Haitian Migrants

The Jamaican Coast Guard has rescued 38 Haitian migrants found sailing in a wooden boat off the east coast of the Caribbean island nation.

Officials say the migrants were rescued by a helicopter near the Morant Cays, about 50 kilometers off Jamaica's coast, and taken to a shelter.

Jamaica is about 160 kilometers west of Haiti, the poorest country in the Americas.
