Court Rules In Favor of Polygamist Sect

An appeals court in the U.S. state of Texas has ruled that authorities had no right to remove children from a polygamist religious sect's compound. Officials raided the compound on April 3rd and removed more than 400 children amid allegations of systemic sexual and physical abuse. In its nine-page ruling on Thursday, the Third Court of Appeals in Austin Texas said child welfare workers had failed to prove the children were in immediate danger. VOA's Mil Arcega reports.
