Boehner: GOP Warns of Political Rebellion

The Republican leader in the U.S. House of Representatives says this week's victory by a Republican in a Massachusetts Senate race should serve as a warning to President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress.

In the weekly Republican address Saturday, House Minority Leader John Boehner says a political rebellion has been brewing in the country for several months. He says that rebellion propelled Republican Scott Brown to victory in a special election to fill the Senate seat held for nearly 50 years by the late Senator Edward Kennedy - a Democrat.

Boehner says in Mr. Obama's first year in office, the president's efforts to stimulate the economy and create jobs have only resulted in continued economic misery and more debt.

The minority leader said Democrats have been too preoccupied by the health care reform bill, which he calls a government take-over of health care.

Boehner called on Democrats to start working with Republicans to get the economy moving again.
