A racehorse owned by Britain's Queen Elizabeth has failed a drug test.
Buckingham Palace identified Estimate as one of five racehorses that the British Horseracing Authority says tested positive for morphine in samples taken on a recent race day.
In a statement Tuesday, John Warren, Queen Elizabeth's racing adviser, said "initial indications were the positive test had resulted from the 'consumption of a contaminated feed product.'"
The palace said the queen is aware of the failed drug test and that her horse trainer "is working closely with the feed company to discover how the product may have become contaminated prior to delivery."
Estimate won the Gold Cup at the Royal Ascot in 2013 and came in second at this year’s race.
