Afghan Government Releases More than 800 Taliban Prisoners

In an effort to encourage Taliban militants to join the intra-Afghan peace talks, the Afghan government this week began releasing more than 800 Taliban prisoners. Officials say they have vetted the prisoners, and measures have been taken to ensure these prisoners would not pose a threat to the country's security or rejoin the Taliban.
