A team of astronomers have released a new study that led the discovery of cosmic web filaments (long thin streams of ionized gas) connecting to galaxies in a large and distant proto-cluster. The researchers found that these streams of gas, that interconnect with objects throughout the universe, also spawn intense formations of stars and feed supermassive black holes.
