Thousands of spiders have blanketed Australian bushland with webs after heavy rain and flooding hit the region of Victoria over the past few weeks.

The spiders moved to higher ground to escape the soaked ground, according to local media.

A low-pressure weather system brought flooding to Gippsland last week, leading to at least one fatality and an evacuation order in the town of Traralgon. (REUTERS)
