Iraq Bomb Blast Kills 11

Iraqi officials say a suicide car bomber attacked a checkpoint north of Baghdad, killing at least 11 people.

Authorities say 35 people were wounded in the blast Monday in town of Khalis.

Reuters reports most of the victims died inside their cars while waiting to enter the town.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the Islamic State frequently carries out suicide bombings in Iraq.
