March 20, 2023, marked 20 years since the U.S. and its coalition partners launched a military invasion into Iraq, initiated as part of a Global War on Terror following the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The combat mission ended for the U.S. in August 2010, but the aftermath of the war is still being felt today.
