At the Leaders Summit on the Global Refugee Crisis, President Barack Obama commended Germany, Canada, Austria, the Netherlands and Australia "for their continued leadership, as well countries like Argentina and Portugal for their new commitments" in admitting refugees. He added the U.S. will soon begin welcoming "110,000 refugees from around the world -- which is a nearly 60 percent increase over 2015. We intend to do it right, and we will do it safely."
