In an attempt to highlight atrocities of the Syrian regime, anti-government activists videotaped caged young children in a staged re-enactment of a brutal Islamic State video showing a trapped Jordanian pilot being burned to death.
The video, which has made the social media rounds since it surfaced on Monday, was allegedly taken in the battle-torn city of Douma.
It shows 15 caged children holding signs and wearing orange jumpsuits. A flaming torch is shown in the background.
The video, however, appears not designed to draw further outcry to the brutality of IS.
Instead, the video is calling on the world to intervene to save Douma children from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and attacks from pro-government forces.
The children carry signs in Arabic calling for support to save Douma kids. The children speak in Arabic saying Assad forces burn children and their schools.

“We saw your media when the Jordanian pilot was burned, but we don’t see your media when the children of Douma are burned,” read a sign held by one of the children inside the cage.
The image was designed to recall a video released by the Islamic State terrorist group showing them placing captured First Lieutenant Kasasbeh, the 26-year-old Jordanian air force pilot, in a cage and burning him alive
Activists have long been dismayed at what they perceive as benign neglect on the part of the international community as to the killing of civilians by the Assad regime during Syria's long civil war.
The videotape was allegedly made near the site of a recent airstrike in Douma that activists say killed several dozen civilians, many of them children, according to media reports.
