Trump Team Downplays Taiwan Phone Call

Washington is watching the latest signals from Donald Trump as to whether the president-elect intends to reposition America’s diplomatic posture in Asia. VOA’s Michael Bowman reports, Trump surprised many at home and abroad Friday by announcing he had spoken with the President Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan, with which the United States has had to formal diplomatic ties since 1979.
