Joseph Manuel Hunter is led by Thai police commandos to Police Aviation Division after being arrested, Sept. 26, 2013.
Police in Thailand say they are sending an international fugitive back to the United States for drug smuggling charges.

"Joseph Hunter is one of the most wanted men in the U.S. He is behind crimes in many locations across the world," said Priewpan Damapon, a police general in Thailand.

Thai police say they arrested Hunter earlier this week on the seaside resort island of Phuket after receiving a tip from U.S. drug agents.

Police say Hunter is the lone American among six suspects with outstanding warrants for smuggling drugs into the U.S.

Thai police say all the suspects are believed to have military experience.
