In an interview with VOA, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that the Taliban have imposed "no restrictions" on media and that journalists can work freely. A media law is still being finalized, and until then, journalists should operate under the regulations under the former government, he said. The spokesperson said women still work in the media and denied that the Taliban have threatened anyone.
