A suicide car bomb and other attacks in northern Iraq killed nine people Saturday.
Officials say the deadliest attack occurred near the northern city of Mosul, where a suicide car bomber who targeted a police patrol killed a policeman and three other people.
In Tuz Khormato, 200 kilometers north of Baghdad, gunmen killed three policemen and wounded a fourth.
Violence was also reported in the cities of Tikrit and Samarra.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Violence has escalated in Iraq in recent months, raising concerns of a return to a full-fledged sectarian war.
