Major League Baseball's St Louis Cardinals have forced a decisive Game Seven in the National League Champions Series with an extra inning 6-4 victory over the visiting Houston Astros.
Jim Edmonds blasted a home run over the outfield wall in the 12th inning Wednesday to score two runs and give the Cardinals a chance to go to the World Series.
Saint Louis held a 4-3 lead after the third inning of Game Six. Houston's Jeff Bagwell drove in the tying run in the ninth inning to extend play. But strong Cardinals relief pitching from Julien Tavarez kept Houston from scoring again.
Roger Clemens will be the starting pitcher for Houston in Game 7 on Thursday, while Jeff Suppan will throw for Saint Louis
