The U.S. military says a car bomb has exploded near a vehicle on the main road to Baghdad's airport.
A U.S. military spokesman says the incident occurred Wednesday on the highway leading from Baghdad to the city's airport. There are reports of injuries, but the spokesman says there were no American casualties.
The stretch of road is considered one of the most dangerous in Iraq, with insurgents frequently targeting military convoys.
Meanwhile, a car bomb outside the Ministry of Education in Baghdad Tuesday killed six people and wounded several others. A second blast hit an Iraqi National Guard patrol in the northern city of Mosul, killing two guardsmen.
