Air traffic controllers in Guyana have gone on strike, forcing cancellation of several domestic and international flights.
Cabinet secretary Roger Luncheon said Wednesday's strike by some 28 air traffic controllers was to protest an overdue five percent pay increase.
The main international airline in Guyana, BWIA, said at least 450 passengers were stranded because of the strike.
