Second Suspect in Dutch Islamic School Firebombing Arrested

Dutch police have arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of involvement in the November firebombing of an Islamic school.

He is the second person arrested in the incident. No one was hurt in the firebombing of the Tareq Ibnoe Ziyad school in the southern Dutch town of Eindhoven, but the school was heavily damaged.

Dutch authorities declined to provide any additional details, saying they did not want to compromise the investigation. In December, police took an 18-year-old man into custody. He has since been released.

The firebombing is part of a wave of backlash attacks against Muslim targets in the Netherlands. They began after Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh was killed by a man identified as having ties to Muslim extremists. The murder followed the release of his film, which criticized how women are treated under Islam.
