Officials with an international gas consortium in Peru say two people have been killed and four others injured in a helicopter crash near the southern Camisea gas field.
A spokesman for Transportatadora e Gas del Peru (TGP) issued a statement Thursday saying the helicopter was carrying TGP workers when it crashed in the Amazon jungle Wednesday, killing one person from Peru and another from Argentina.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known. Officials say bad weather in the region prevented rescue workers from moving victims from the crash scene.
TGP operates a 700-kilometer pipeline from the Camisea gas field. The group is an international consortium that includes oil company's from Argentina, South Korea, Algeria and the United States.
