Hillary Rodham Clinton briefly collapsed during a public appearance in Buffalo, New York, apparently as a result of the flu.
The Democratic senator from New York had just started to give a speech on the government retirement plan. Mrs. Clinton told the crowd she had had a stomach virus and was feeling weak. She then fainted and was treated at the scene, but declined to go to the hospital.
A statement by her office in Washington said she is fine now and that she is proceeding with her planned schedule this Monday afternoon.
Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, successfully underwent quadruple bypass coronary surgery last September.
