Skating:  6 Judges, Officials Removed from ISU

Six former judges and officials of the International Skating Union have been excluded from the organization for trying to set up a rival body to run the sport.

Americans Ronald Pfenning and Jon Jackson, Sally Anne Stapleford of Britain, Britta Lindgren of Sweden, Judith Furst-Tombor of Hungary and Jan Garden of Canada were declared ineligible Thurdsay by the ISU. While they will not be able to act as referees, officials or judges for international competitions, the decision does not affect their work with national skating federations.

The World Skating Federation was set up following the judging scandal three years ago at the Salt Lake City Olympics. But the movement has failed to gain support to become the sport's world governing body.
