Heat, Spurs Post Wins in NBA Playoffs


The Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs have 2-0 leads in their respective National Basketball Association playoff series after both posted wins Tuesday night.

Dwyane Wade scored in 31 points and dished out a career-high 15 assists to lead host Miami over the Washington Wizards 108-102. Antawn Jamison had a playoff career-high 32 points for Washington despite tendonitis in his right knee. Game 3 is Thursday in Washington.

Also Tuesday, Manu Ginobili came off the bench to score 28 points and lead the San Antonio Spurs past the Seattle SuperSonics 109-91 to take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference second round playoff series.

Tim Duncan added 25 and Tony Parker had 22 for the Spurs. Ray Allen led the Sonics with 25 points. Game 3 of the series is in Seattle on Thursday.

The playoffs continue Wednesday night when the reigning champion Detroit Pistons take on the Indiana Pacers and the top-seeded Phoenix Suns face the Dallas Mavericks.
