Police in northern India say at least 37 members of a wedding party have been killed and 20 others injured when their bus skidded off a mountain road and plunged into a deep ravine.
Authorities say the accident happened Tuesday in Rudraprayag district of Uttranchal Pradesh state. They say the bus was overcrowded, with some passengers sitting on the roof.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known. An investigation is under way.
Road accidents are common in India where drivers often ignore traffic and safety rules and roads are poorly maintained.
