Home sales hit a record high in the United States in April.
Tuesday's report from a business group (the National Association of Realtors) says sales of previously-owned houses and condominiums jumped 4.5 percent.
If sales continue at that pace for a year, nearly 7.2 million homes will change hands.
The jump in sales was bigger than analysts expected, and apparently was fueled by low interest rates.
Home prices in April were up about 15 percent from the same time last year, pushing the median home price in the United States to a record $206,000.
