Cricket: Bangladesh Battles Back Against England


Ian Bell has hit his first test century to help England's cricket team to a 46-run lead over Bangladesh after the second day of the second test at Chester-Le-Street.

Bell stroked an unbeaten 162 from 168 balls as England reached 447 - 3 declared at lunch.

Bangladesh then scored 297-8, its third highest second-innings total in 37 tests.

Opener Javed Omar led Bangladesh with 71 runs while Habibul Bashar scored 63 before being called out leg before wicket.

England leads the two-test series, 1-0 after winning the first test by an innings and 261 runs.
