The eldest son of British Prime Minister Tony Blair will take an unpaid internship in the U.S. Congress later this year.
The prime minister's office confirmed Sunday that Euan Blair, 21, will work for the Republican majority on the Rules Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. He will be mentored by committee chair David Dreier, a California Republican.
The prime minister's office added that the younger Blair hopes to work for a congressional Democrat as well.
President Bush and Mr. Blair have had a close working relationship as coalition partners in Iraq, though the prime minister's Labor Party is closer to the Democrats on many other issues.
