French Open tennis champion Rafael Nadal has continued his winning streak on clay by reaching the semifinals of the Mercedes Cup men's tournament in Stuttgart, Germany.
Nadal, the top seed, ousted Tomas Zib of the Czech Republic in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. Friday's victory was Nadal's 32nd straight win on clay.
The 19-year-old Spaniard next plays Finland's Jarkko Nieminen, a straight-set winner over Andreas Seppi of Italy (6-2, 6-3).
Meanwhile, second seed Nikolay Davydenko reached the final four by beating Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic (6-4, 6-2). Davydenko takes on the winner of an all-Argentine quarterfinal between Mariano Zabaleta and Gaston Gaudio.
